Professor Chad M. Rachel (Assistant Coach)
Professor Chad M. Rachel is a 2nd Degree Black Belt under Professor Rafael Ellwanger, with over 16 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 12 of those years as an instructor. He previously trained with NOLA BJJ under Professor Matthias Meister. Professor Chad translates his engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills into customized jiu jitsu instruction, providing detailed explanation of not only the “how” (to apply), but also the “why” (it works) and the “when” (to use). His instruction concentrates on traditional grappling, with an emphasis on relatively simple techniques and self-defense applications. His classes often incorporate constraint-based exercises where the student experiences live resistance with a small amount of variability and a focus on a single task.
