More About
Professor Andre Jeansonne
Professor Andre’s first introduction to martial arts came during his military training, where he was introduced to the Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP). At the time, MACP was a new concept built by the Gracie family following the success of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the early days of the UFC. This inspired Andre to volunteer as a unit level instructor, thus starting his journey into martial arts.
In 2009 Andre began formal training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under Professor Raphael Ellwanger in Hammond, LA, and he has trained with Professor Rafael exclusively ever since. In June 2021, Andre was promoted to Black Belt by Professor Rafael and Professor Ailson “Jucao” Brites. Upon his retirement from the Army in 2022, Professor Andre began teaching full-time at Gracie United Mandeville.
